Sub-floors when tested in accordance with BS8203/8204 and found to have an RH of up to 98% can be successfully treated with Creom where vinyl, Linoleum or carpet is to be the final floor covering and where the high RH in the Sub-floor is due entirely to residual construction moisture. Also, it is important to point out that RH measuring devices typically have an accuracy of +/- 2%, so if RH levels of more than 96% are found, repeat measurements should be made with another instrument to ascertain that the actual RH is not above 98%. If external moisture (due, for example to the lack of a physical dpm beneath the sub floor), is suspected of causing the excessive dampness in the floor, then Creom should not be used as a solution to such a problem.
